Quick Start
This chapter walks you through the first connection, checking drive status, uploading a parameter backup, and saving parameters. Before starting, make sure the drive, communication hardware, and cables are connected correctly.
Before You Begin

eTuner does not connect to a device automatically at startup. On first use, click Connection to open Target Connection and select the target drive.
Connect a Device
- Open the eTuner client to enter the main window.
- Click Connection to open the Target Connection window.
- If the connection list is empty, enter the ID Range: and click Scanning to scan for devices.
- After the target device is found, click Add List.
- Select the target device in the connection list and click Connect.
- After a successful connection, the top of the main window shows the current connection ID and a state such as Disabled or Enabled.
Connection testing and connection results depend on the hardware driver, communication cable, CAN ID, device power state, and whether another master is using the device. Check these conditions first if no device is found.
View Status
- After connecting, confirm that the Current Connection ID in the main window matches the target drive.
- Click Status Monitor to open the status window.
- Review the operating state, warning state, position, speed, current, temperature, bus voltage, inputs, outputs, and troubleshooting recommendations.
- To stop real-time status updates, click Stop Monitoring in the status window.
After connecting, the software starts reading status data in the background. Click Status Monitor to view the complete status window.
Upload a Parameter Backup
- Make sure the target drive is connected and the current connection ID in the main window is correct.
- Click Parameter in the main window to open the Upload and Download window.
- Click Drive Load.
- Select or enter the location of the
.dlgfile. If the file already exists, confirm whether to overwrite it when prompted. - Wait for the upload to complete before closing the parameter window or performing another operation.
Parameter files use the .dlg format and are encrypted/decrypted by the software. Do not edit them manually as plain text.
Save Parameters
- After changing parameters, click Apply in the current settings window, then return to the main window.
- Click Save.
- When “Saving. Do not power off!” appears, wait about three seconds for the “Saved successfully!” message.
High-risk operation: Do not save while the device is initializing after power-on or while it is moving. The servo does not respond to new commands while writing to Flash. Do not power off, disconnect communication, switch target devices, or perform another operation until saving is confirmed.
Download and Factory Reset Notes

| Restore factory parameters | This is a separate high-risk process that changes drive parameters. After it runs, follow the software prompt to power-cycle and reconnect. Confirm that the parameters have taken effect before clicking Save. |
This Quick Start only covers introductory steps and does not describe the complete factory-parameter restoration process. Restoring factory parameters and issuing a terminal reset command are different operations and must not be confused.
